Responsibilities:
- Financial Statements & General Ledger Review:
- Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Perform detailed general ledger scrutiny and investigate unusual or incorrect transactions.
- Assist with year-end adjustments, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions and other relevant accounting adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations and identify discrepancies or areas requiring further investigation.
- Assist the Australian accounting team with year-end financial statements and reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and client requirements.
- Assist stakeholders in resolving queries.
- New Client Onboarding:
- Understand the client’s existing accounting systems, processes, reporting structure and financial position.
- Review historical accounting information and identify gaps, inconsistencies and areas for improvement.
- Assist in developing an appropriate accounting and reporting setup strategy for new clients.
- Establish efficient workflows and processes for ongoing accounting and financial reporting.
- Ensure a smooth transition from the client’s existing setup to the new accounting process.
Historical & Projected Cash Flow Analysis: - Prepare and analyse historical cash flow information.
- Develop projected cash flow forecasts using historical financial data, budgets and available operational information.
- Identify significant cash flow movements, trends, risks and potential funding requirements.
- Present relevant cash flow analysis, forecasts, key trends, risks and recommendations to stakeholders to support effective financial and business decision-making.
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience as an accountant or accounting supervisor for at least 2 years.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
- Highly detail-oriented and well organized.
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Potential to manage the team.
- Experience in client onboarding, stakeholder communication, staff training and process improvement would be an advantage.
Qualifications Required: Major in accounting, finance or related field preferably CA/CPA/ACCA
